Ashley Coles grew up in Covington, GA, where she attended Eastside High School. While attending Eastside, Ashley played softball all four years. As a pitcher, she was an intricate part of her team’s success. After graduating in 2004, Ashley accepted a full scholarship to Georgia Perimeter College in Dunwoody where she pitched two years at the junior college level. During this time, she was selected for the all-region team and was undefeated during the regular season her sophomore year. After junior college, she continued her softball career and academics at Georgia State University. At Georgia State, Ashley was selected team captain and showed leadership on and off of the field. In 2009, she graduated from Georgia State University with a bachelor’s in Health and Personal Fitness and then went on to receive her masters degree from Troy State University. After college, Ashley began teaching and coaching at Newton High School, where she is currently serving as the head coach of the softball program. Ashley enjoys working with youth and has a passion for mentoring. Her goals are to encourage young athletes to succeed on and off of the field. She believes that the hard work and dedication that is needed in sports will take young athletes far in life. Ashley is married to Jared Coles, with whom she has two boys, Cam and Case.
